Ryanair-Twitter-1Budget airline Ryanair has launched a new customer Twitter account, @RyanairFlights, which will provide real-time information for customers on each one of its 1,600 daily flights.

While the company has previously used its existing Twitter account to improve customer service with updates, it has only had limited interactions with customers.

The new account will provide customers with instant updates on the status of flights, with users who follow the account and send it a flight number via a direct message receiving an automatic update on the flight, with scheduled departure and arrival times, as well as news of early landings or delays.

“Ryanair is pleased to launch @RyanairFlights, offering Twitter users instant real-time information for our 1,600 daily flights,” said Robin Kiely of Ryanair. “Over 100,000 people already follow our official @Ryanair Twitter account for the latest news, special fare offers and dedicated customer service and we look forward to rolling out further digital innovations, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest fares.”
