Kodak is back – and the firm's chief growth officer, Darren Johnson, is speaking at Mobile Marketing Live
For the past week or so, we’ve been previewing the companies presenting at Mobile Marketing Live, sector by sector. But some of our speakers – Forrester, IBM, Kodak and the RNIB – don’t fall into any of the other categories, so today, we’re rounding up their presentations in one preview.
Forrester
First up in Stream 1 at 11.20 is Christine Overby, vice president and practice leader at Forrester. Christine’s presentation is titled: ‘Strategies for the Mobile Mind Shift’. In it, she’ll be explaining how mobile is about more than apps. Indeed, she will argue, it’s about a complete shift in the mindset and expectations of consumers.
Christine will then introduce delegates to the concept of the Mobile Mind Shift Index. This is a metric designed to help brands identify how far their customers are along this mind shift. Christine will show delegates which groups are moving fastest toward perpetual connectivity, and explain how they can evaluate their own customer base and best serve the needs of perpetually connected customers.
RNIB
In Stream 2 at 4.05, Gary Readfern-Gray, accessibility specialist at the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), will examine the extent to which app and mobile site developers consider – or don’t – the needs of visually impaired consumers. Gary will explain how to seamlessly code an app to incorporate accessibility, without impacting the budget or timeline so that people who suffer sight loss can enjoy the same mobile experiences as the rest of us.
IBM
Back in Stream 1, at 4.20. Matt Candy, managing partner at IBM Digital Consulting, will explain the technology partnership between IBM and the Wimbledon tennis tournament. For two weeks every year, the Wimbledon All England Lawn Tennis Club scales up from a private tennis club in a London suburb to host one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events – the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Delivery of a high-quality integrated experience across a range of devices is a key component of the cub’s digital strategy to increase reach and exposure, and IBM plays a major part in making this happen.
This year, with IBM’s help, Wimbledon fans were served by a mobile-enabled website, smartphone apps and a new iPad app. In his presentation, Matt will look at the different mobile offerings supporting Wimbledon and how they are targeted to meet the wide-ranging needs of their users.
He will also discuss some of the specific challenges of delivering a mobile solution for such a high profile event, with characteristics of an unmissable go-live date, high usage numbers over a short period of time, frequent content updates, and a heavy focus on rich media throughout.
Kodak
To many people, the name Kodak means one thing – a company that failed to see the digital revolution coming, and suffered the consequences. But Kodak is back. The company exited from bankruptcy on 3 September 2013, having sold off much of its patent portfolio for $525m, and has re-emerged as a technology company focused on imaging for business, providing disruptive technologies and breakthrough solutions.
At Mobile Marketing Live, Kodak’s chief growth officer, Darren Johnson, will take to the stage at 4.40 in Stream 1 to talk about innovation. He will examine the nature and potential impact of true innovation, and explain how an innovative approach can help organisations maintain growth.
