LinkedIn continued its mobile march with another major app update Thursday
The professional network, which already rolled out two new standalone apps in the past three months, announced Connected, a complete overhaul of its existing standalone app Contacts
Contacts wasn’t just an address book, although it could operate as one; the app also included a “To Do” tab, a News Feed-like stream of alerts from the user’s LinkedIn connections. Alerts include milestones like work anniversaries, birthdays, or a new job
These alerts are front and center in ConnectedLinkedIn found that most users open the app for a few minutes in the morning, so the company repurposed the app to focus more on updates you may want to see before heading off to work.
