Restaurant chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) has partnered with hospitality mobile tech experts Flypay to launch a digital Order & Collect service. Customers to create their burger, pay and then collect it at a time of their choosing using GBK’s app.
The function will be added to the app today, and will also reward customers using it with a bespoke loyalty program that enables customers to build up to a free burger within just four visits.
The existing GBK app was launched in November 2012 and has already been downloaded 400,000 times. The order and collect service, which will work on both Android and iOS versions, uses Flypay’s pay-at-table technology, enabling diners to check, split and pay their bills effortlessly without the need of a waiter.
“Order & Collect has been a rising trend in retail for a couple of years, and now we’re seeing it move into other environments, like bars and restaurants,” said Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of GBK. “Customers have told us they want the kind of convenience that comes with Order & Collect, and we’re committed to delivering it to them.
“We chose Flypay as our strategic partner because of their intelligent technology and their customer focused approach to its design allowed us to seamlessly deliver on our promise, whilst also having the ability to genuinely reward customers for their loyalty.”
